Suniechick (“this site”) is a personal blog about connecting women with the outdoors. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit, subscribe, or comment, how it is used, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Email subscriptions. If you subscribe, we collect your email address. The subscribe form sits in the footer of the site, and subscriptions are handled by Jetpack (a service of Automattic). Your email address is used to send you new posts from this site. Every subscription email includes an unsubscribe link, and subscribing is always optional.
Comments and likes. If you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address, and website you enter, along with your IP address and browser details, which WordPress uses to help detect spam. Your email address is not shown publicly. Likes and comments may be handled through a WordPress.com account if you are signed in to one.
Cookies. This site uses cookies set by WordPress and Jetpack to make features like comments, likes, and subscriptions work and to remember your preferences. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work. This site does not run advertising or third-party analytics, and we do not sell personal information.
Log files. Like most websites, the hosting server keeps standard log files (IP address, browser type, pages visited, and date and time). These are used to operate and secure the site and are not tied to individual readers by name.
Embedded content and sharing
Articles on this site include embedded content, such as YouTube videos. Embedded content behaves as if you visited that other website directly, and that website may collect data about you under its own privacy policy. Posts also carry share links to social networks; if you use one, that network’s own privacy policy governs what it collects.
How information is used
- Your email address is used only to send the posts you subscribed to.
- Comment information is used only to display and moderate comments.
- Log files are used only to run and protect the site.
Your choices and rights
You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any subscription email. You may also contact us to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted (for example, your subscription record or a comment you left). Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the GDPR or CCPA may give you additional rights; we honor reasonable requests under them.
